MALLORY KATE DESIGN
mountain inspired artwork
ABOUT ME
My name is Mallory and I am an emerging artist in Boise, ID easily inspired by the color, depth, and dimension of nature and the movement of adventure. Much of my work is created in plein air while hiking, skiing, and backpacking.
I’ve always been a creator, but it wasn’t until knee surgery in 2022 that I truly stepped into my identity as an artist. While recovery limited me from accessing the mountains, it also empowered me to witness the healing power of art. I used to think I didn’t have a “style” because my work is so diverse, but I’ve learned that diversity, experimentation, and the vulnerability to explore new mediums is a style within itself. I use paper, plaster, paint, block prints, digital design, and recycled ski gear to tell my story.
As a full time speech-language pathologist, I believe art is the most authentic form of communication. In the absence of words, art continues to inspire, communicate, and build community. Art is healing. Art is language. My art tells the story of travel, adventure, joy, pain and my unique perspective of the world.
